WATERCOLOR CASE

Wow!   I seem to post later and later.   But quite honestly, this was the first time I had an opportunity to even get to my blog.

Today was beautiful, partly cloudy, breezy and a little humid.   A fine day for a walk.  Who knew that Brooklyn was such a great place to grow roses.   These photos were taken on my walk...

And the sweet smell of roses accompanied me all the way.   I think most of the yards have rose bushes and they are all in bloom!!!

I did get a watercolor case made.   It's similar to the doodle case but a bit larger.  The only thing I would do differently is to shorten up the bottom.   If I can figure out how and still have it looking nice, I still may.

The fabric was plain cotton, unlike the tapestry in yesterday's doodle case, so I used two layers of low loft batting to give the case more substance.  Here's the front...

And the back...

The closure is different.   I made a loop in the front for the ribbon to go through to keep the case closed.

And here's the inside...

There are pockets for the watercolor pad, brushes, a spray bottle for extra water and the watercolors case which is an inch plus thick.   Making the pocket for the watercolors case was interesting but I finally figured it out.   Because of it's thickness, I had to have a spine of sorts and that's where the extra brushes wound up.

The next case I want to make is for my colored pencils.   That one will take a bit longer because I think I will make individual pockets for each pencil.   I have a bit of a plan in mind but will have to work on it some more.

I hope your day was great...
Thanks for visiting...
Talk to you tomorrow...
