DID THE WEATHER FORECASTERS EVER GET THIS ONE WRONG!!!

Remember this cute photo from yesterday?

Well, let me tell you, that little beginning did not foreshadow what was to come!!!

That little snowstorm that would turn to rain was not little and didn't really turn to rain for very long...just long enough to make it treacherous for driving and walking.  All you have to do is look at the pictures of the New York City and Hudson Valley.

One son stayed home to take his driver's test (He passed.) because living up here one needs a car as opposed to living in NYC where one can get around on mass transit (EXCEPT YESTERDAY!). The other son didn't make it home until 3am...that's three in the morning after driving for eight hours! A trip that normally takes an hour and a half in heavy traffic.

So Orange County where we live had the most snow.  Up to 18 inches. We got about 14 inches and it's still here. No rising temperatures and rain to melt the small amount of snow we were to get.

Here's our firepit, buried in snow with over a foot on top...

I never noticed this beautiful tree at the back of the yard until the snow...

Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep until everyone was safely home. So, I began making Christmas cards. Why? Don't ask, I haven't made them in decades. Just seemed like something to whileaway the hours.

Some of them turned out quite nice...at least the covers. I'll photograph them today and post them next week. For right now, I think I will make a nice oven meal of baked potatoes, meatloaf, squash, etc. and find a book to read or a magazine to browse through. No way am I going out in this weather except to play in the snow.

Here's hoping everyone is warm and safe...
Thanks for checking things out here...
Talk with you on Monday...
