NINETEEN YEARS LATER

Well, today was quite a day.  Even though it was nineteen years ago, the minute the celebration began, it all came rushing back like it was yesterday!  Yes, we have an even bigger problem with the pandemic...and just think that about every four days, the same amount of folks who died in 911 die.  But for those of us who were here and knew folks who were impacted or were impacted ourselves, it was enormous.

On a more positive note, it was great to have NFL football begin, especially the way it began.  First with the black national anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing, followed by a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.  Then, all the players and their staff stood in one line across the field for a moment of silence to basically bring our nation together.

And the game was pretty good.  One other thing happened yesterday.  It was the first time that all four major sports had games on the same day.  That's football, basketball, baseball and hockey!  Wonder if that will ever happen again?  If it's because of a pandemic, I hope not.

Busy weekend with the first guild meeting of the fall, this one with a speaker.  Followed by a board meeting and then, this is the week that I need to get out a newsletter.  The good news is that for the most part, the first of two monthly guild meetings is all planned for the year.  Now it just basically follow-up emails, etc.  And the second meeting with interviews, quilters of the month, challenges, auctions, show & tell plus several other items has been planned through January.  Maybe the amount of work with the guild will let up a bit.

And, I did get some of the fall decorations out...basically all the fall flowers (I have a ton of them!)  And the weather has begun to cooperate...getting cooler!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend...

Talk with you on Monday...
