However, rain has visited us again. It began last night and continuing all day until this evening. I had to skip my coffee on the patio...too wet and rainy!
I wanted to share another easy way to make clusters. I can't claim this idea as mine because I saw it on one of my favorite YouTube Channels, Scrapbooking With Me. By the way, if you are interested in making journals, you really should check out this channel. I did change the process a bit, but the idea is the same.
So, first tear pieces of printed paper from on old book, I like to completely glue them down to a darker page (mine was coffee dyed), inking the edges first...
Next add another piece of torn paper on top. Again, I inked and glued them down completely...
Finally, add a third piece of torn paper, inked and glued down...
A word about tearing paper. Check out this photo...
If you want the white edging around the piece you are using shown on the left, hold the part you want to use in your left hand and tear from you. If you do not want the white edging as shown on the right, hold the piece you want to use in your right hand and tear toward you.
Next, you can add more to the clusters, but I like to use these as base pieces and then add what's needed later. Instead of tearing the clusters apart, I cut them apart and then trim them close and ink the edges...
When you want to use them, you can now add the things that fit the page or tag you want to use them on. For instance, you can add paper or fabric lace...
And then, maybe some flowers or butterflies...
That's it for these clusters. I did finish the small journals...yes, I said journals, there are two. Here's a preview of both of them. I'll share more tomorrow...
