Have you begun thinking about the holidays? I was looking at the magazine with natural decorations to decide which to begin with when I realized that to make things easier, I should develop a master list to organize things like holiday events, gifts, etc.
I haven't quite come up with the right organizing tool yet, but when I do I will share it in case you're interested.
Actually, I was thinking that at my age, these things should be easier, less work, less to keep track of...guess what? There's more...lots more...at least in my case!
Couldn't get to sleep last night so I tried doodling...it's not finished yet but here's another one. Didn't take long before I got sleepy...
If you are having problems sleeping, why not give doodling a try...it may help!
So I started another journal but this one is small. I wanted to make a folder
type journal. Open the journal is 9 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches tall.
Closed it's 4 3/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall.
I made it out of heavy scrapbook decorative paper. I folded the top down and glued to conceal the white unfinished side and folded the bottom up to make a pocket on each side. The paper is so heavy and thick that I cut a strip from the middle of the pockets so the folder would fold flat. Here it is open...
The paper is wild isn't it...but I love the orange!
I tried something different with the pages. Instead of sewing the pages together and then adding pockets and tucks, I added the pockets and tucks first, lightly gluing down and then sewed, catching the edges of both the pages and the pockets and tucks. Check out these pages, front and back and close-up of sewing...
This is the first time that I have been able to sew a zigzag stitch and not have any misses. I am sewing slower than normal so maybe that's the trick. Anyway, I am liking how this is turning out. Here's another set front and back...
I will probably only include five double sheets like those above and maybe some envelopes. This is a trial example. I was thinking that if they turned out nice, I might make several for gifts.
That's it for now...
Talk with you tomorrow...
