I did get all my shopping done for baking and dinner preparation Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It's getting down to the wire, folks! Time to get your ducks lined up in a row!
I actually had to go to four different grocery stores to get everything. Candied cherries which I use for my fruitcake cupcakes were hard to find. Hannaford, the last store I went to, had seven containers. I bought the two large ones. I usually only make one or two batches of cookies but the cupcakes go so fast and last a long time that I normally make four batches!
It's bright and sunny out but there are clouds in the sky. No rain is forecast until the weekend and into next week, though. The leaves are finally drying out but if not raked before Sunday, forget it. Three days of rain are forecast beginning with Sunday!
If you are looking for some easy ornaments, try felt ones. You can find a gazillion patterns and instructions on line. Here are a few that I have made in the past...
All you need is some felt, not much, a bit of fill if you are stuffing it, a needle, thread, a scissors and some time. I generally use the blanket stitch to sew sides together. They are fast, easy and enjoyable.
That's all for today...
Talk with you tomorrow...
