Believe it or not, these flowers are still brightly blooming. A bit surprising but the weather has been fairly warm and no real freezes yet.
I did some outside work today like cleaning the vegetable garden. Tomatoes and peppers worked well. Squash not so much. The herbs were the best...
They are still growing so I brought them to a table next to the house. I even spotted a dill plant that was trying to grow...
Remember, I planted two separate pots of dill both of which died right away. But when I took in the rest of the herbs, lo and behold, here was a struggling dill plant.
Tomorrow, early before the rain comes, I want to get out and do some weed trimming to knock things down around the front and side of the house. The back of the house will be fine until next spring.
Unfortunately, the fall color has been a disappointment this year. I think this is the best around here that I will see...
I have been south, north, east and west a minimum of 50 miles each way and no color. And we are supposed to have rain tomorrow afternoon and high winds on Thursday so I think the leaves will be mostly down after this week.
The other major undertaking today was to sort all the bags that came home from the guild last Saturday. Collection for our Holiday Charity ends in November. Last year I came home with tons of garbage bags full of items. I have already come home with a ton, so here's hoping that at the next meeting the donations will exceed last year's.
Both boys had yesterday off, so it was like a weekend day. I didn't do too much other than a major grocery shopping. Our larder was quite low. And, of course, the football game last night. The Packers won but on the strength of two bad calls against the Lions.
It feels like Monday...I have to remind myself that it is really Tuesday. I think I will be a day behind all week. As a matter of fact, I missed the local guild meeting last night...totally forgot that it was Monday.
That's it for today...
Talk with you tomorrow...
