I have ordered from several stores that had it in stock, only to find it out of stock when it came to my order. I have lost count of the number of stores that we have visited to see if they have any. We even checked RV sections because there is usually toilet paper in that area. (RV's use a different type of toilet paper.)
I asked my one son to check again in the stores close to where he works in NYC to see if they have any. Yesterday, he found none.
But today, yes today, there was success. He went to a little deli where he picks up coffee in the morning. And low and behold, there was a whole shelf full. He bought several (but also left more than he took). When he went up to pay, the clerk as why so many and he said that he had been looking for toilet paper for over a week as he was down to one roll for three people.
Upon hearing that, the other folks in line stepped out of line and picked up toilet paper themselves! Again, compared to what is going on, not too scary...that is unless you have none.
I remember growing up using an outhouse. Guess what we used for toilet paper? Right, catalogs. No more catalogs. No more stores that send them out! Life does change.
